The couple approached the Master of the Elements' chamber and stood outside the door for a few moments, feeling the power emanating from the room. Sineliniel took her husband's hand and looked into his eyes.

"I must enter alone, Leofa Silind." Said the Elven Mage. "Vi khess dos."

"I understand, Leofa Silina." Replied the Human Knight. "Vi khess dos." Gilliadson took his wife into his arms and kissed her before releasing her to enter the chamber. They both knew the danger of this path and the story of Trilith Magi'Kot who failed this test and was absorbed into the Orb of Elemental Mastery. They both heard the tale of Lady Marial's experience as well and how she was barely able to pass this test. Sineliniel had to be tested. Passing this test would reward an Elementalist with power from the Orb of Elemental Mastery. Failure would mean the end of the Elementalist's mortal existance.

The Elven Elementalist approached the Master of the Elements and stood before him. Powers of each of the elements swirled about the room passing through Sineliniel's body. Each of the powers would momentarily join with the Mage's power and then release to rejoin the other powers in the room. The Master of the Elements considered the golden-haired Elementalist for a few minutes before speaking.

"Welcome, Sineliniel Shadowbane of The Commonlands, you have come to be tested. The sound of the Masters' voice echoed in the chamber. Do you have the power and the balance to control the Orb of Mastery?"

"I have both the balance and the power." Replied Lady Shadowbane.

"Trilith Magi'Kot stood before the orb in his last few moments of mortal life. He too believed that he had the power and balance needed to grasp control of the elements. He was flawed. Coming to me is a matter of no small import. Only one who is of balance and power may control the Orb of Mastery. Give me the Elements you have gathered and I shall see if you are ready to control the Elements of life."

Sineliniel handed the Elements of Earth, Fire, Water and Air to the Master. The Master examined each of the elements carefully before responding.

"You are balanced and powerful for a mortal Sineliniel Shadowbane. More so than Trilith Magi'kot but you are not yet ready to transcend this mortal coil. Take, seize this Orb, for you are worthy of reward and with the aid of the balance contained within the Orb you may yet reach the ultimate Mastery."

A new staff appeared in the Elementalist's hand and the Orb of Elemental Mastery appeared between them and began to infuse itself into the orb of Sineliniel's new staff. Sineliniel quickly balanced the power that entered her through her staff. When the infusion was complete, The Elven Lady smiled and bowed to the Master of the Elements before leaving his chamber.
